List of approved projects in the first cycle, 2002.

Application deadline is 26.06.2002.

Who Can Apply

Are you eligible?
- Only informal groups of minimum 5 people which are not in family relations or registered NGOs are eligible to apply.

We will support projects by NGOs, local governments, media and civic initiatives that are realistic, feasible, and that have been initiated by the community and have an impact within the community – i.e., will induce change.

Projects should be local, i.e. implemented in local areas – settlements, municipalities. The outcomes of such projects should be evident in these communities. However, they should also be made known to a wider public.

What we do not finance
- NGOs and groups where members involved in the project come from the same family (the next of kin’s);

- off-country trips of the type of scientific meetings, conferences, seminars, meetings, etc.;

- construction works (excluding minor reconstruction operations sometimes necessary)

- political parties or organisations that support political parties;

- academic research;

- procurement of technical equipment, unless justified within the implementation of the project itself;

- honoraria (except for maximum two persons, EUR 150 per person).

There is no a condition for the projects to be submitted by two or more NGOs from different ethnic groups – they can be submitted by an individual NGO. The target group, however, should cover people of different ethnic backgrounds. Projects may involve different fields (health care, environment, education, single mothers or displaced people support, etc.); nevertheless, the interethnic component is obligatory.

Criteria for organisations, and or groups carriers of the project (co-ordinating it) are in consistence with the general criteria of the programme :

  • ability to learn from experience, to build upon the lessons learned during the previous phase;
  • resources (access to relevant expertise);
  • the Programmes compatibility with the core Strategy of their organisations;
  • respect, reliability/trustworthiness in the community;
  • accountability;
  • experience (or potential to learn if they are groups) in project management;
  • experience in direct work within the communities;
  • good knowledge and contacts with different cultures in the community.

In the first round an individual organisation or group may apply with one project solely. Upon submitting the final report, they may apply again. Rejected organisations or groups may apply again with different or amended project.

Project implementation period shall be up to six months.

Budget limit for proposed projects shall be EUR 5,000.00.

Applying organisations and groups shall submit a 3-page project proposal and a budget (an application form will be provided).

Project proposals can be submitted in the language on which the applicants can express themselves in the easiest way, with a summary in Macedonian language.
